A few meters from the Campus Brotas, the General Coordinator is located in a central neighborhood of the city. The building houses the institution's Rectory, as well as our Management and Quality Center (NGQ) and our Planning Advisory Board (ASPLAN).&nbsp; In the Coordination's gardens, there is a bronze statue of the late Professor Humberto de Castro Lima, former general coordinator of the FBDC. It is an environment surrounded by nature and historical landmarks of our academic community. Here, our students can contact the Institutional Academic Relationship and Internationalization Center (REAI) and the Research Ethics Committee (CEP). The General Coordination also includes the Distance Learning Nucleus (NEAD), the Educational Technologies Development Center (CEDETE), the Communication and Marketing Nucleus (NUCOM), the Evaluation Committee (CPA) and the Department of Infrastructure (DEPIN).
 In this building are also located the Commercial and People Development, Administrative and Financial, Legal, Communication and Marketing, Institutional Development and Social Impact Business coordinations.

With three pavilions and a modern structure, this campus is located in a central neighborhood of the Bahian capital. Are 7 laboratories, 23 rooms of class e 2 auditoriums to provide the ideal environment for academic and social development. Also on Campus Brotas, students, teachers, employees and the external public have access to a complete library with comfortable facilities and an up-to-date collection. Surrounded by a vast green area, this campus has 20 laboratories, 37 classrooms e 3 auditoriums. The library is also open to the outside community, with comfortable spaces for reading, studying and socializing. The environment has a modern and complete infrastructure, ample parking and social center with cafeteria. The Cabula Campus is also home to the Dental Center of Bahiana, where the Teaching-Care Outpatient Clinic is located, a field of practice for the quality training of dentistry students, from the 4th semester of the course, under the supervision of professors and has ability to serve up to 120 patients simultaneously. Representing Bahiana, researchers Noel Charlles dos Santos and Eliakim Massuqueto were awarded at the XXXVIII Brazilian Congress of Urology, the third largest congress in the world. The scientific work of researchers at the Center for Urinal Disorders in Childhood Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública (CEDIMI) won the first two places as the best polls of the event. The supervisors of the award-winning productions were Dr. Ubirajara Barroso (CEDIMI coordinator) and Dr. Glícia Abreu (CEDIMI researcher).
Noel Charlles dos Santos, a fourth-year medical student, won first place with the scientific work entitled “Rectal diameter as a predictor of response to treatment with transcutaneous parasacral electrostimulation (TENS) in children with vesico-intestinal dysfunction (VID)”. The researcher highlighted his pleasure in representing CEDIMI at the Congress. “Having this opportunity, both to represent the group and to win an award, is a great happiness. Even more so since the Center is a pioneer in Brazil and one of the main references in the management of voiding disorders in childhood, having as a differential treatments associated with physiotherapy”, explained the researcher when referring to the vast scientific production of CEDIMI.&nbsp;
“The support of Bahiana in all our works, not just this one, it is sensational. I'm from Rondônia, and what I think is that there should be an institution like Bahiana in many other regions of the country”, as the researcher Eliakim Massuqueto, who won the second place for the best work of the Congress with scientific research, described: “Corporoplasty: an anatomical and functional reproduction of the clitoris in patients with sexual differentiation disorder”. Eliakim Massuqueto, who is a master's student at Bahiana, also participated in the survey that won first place in the congress, and also revealed that “this recognition is the result of a lot of collective effort and is in line with what we seek in the survey”. Also participating in the award-winning research were Drs. Maria Luiza Veiga, Maria Thais Calazans, Bruna Venturini, Leydi Casas and Dr. Marcelo Villalta.

<img style="float: left;" src="https://cms.bahiana.cworks.cloud/uploads/bahiana/originals/ad98d2c4-96cd-4335-96e1-660b6e85d662.jpeg" alt="Bahiana Student Leonardo Personal Archive" width="300" height="368">The 7th semester student of the Medicine course, Leonardo Magalhaes Andrade e Silva, won the 2nd place in the <a style="color: #007bff; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://www.grupogen.com.br/olimpiadas-fisiologia" target="_blank" rel="noopener">1st Brazilian Physiology Olympiad</a>, an achievement of the Undergraduate Teaching Committee of the Brazilian Society of Physiology (SBFis) in partnership with the GEN group and ADInstruments. The event consisted of three phases, with the application of online tests that took place from September 9th to October 7th. Leonardo says that he had only one month to prepare for the first stage, counting from the date he became aware of the competition. Another factor that imposed itself as a difficulty in preparing was being at the beginning of the school semester. “Since I had already had experience as a component monitor, I went through some topics more quickly, which in general eased this burden”, said the academic, noting that the support and encouragement of colleagues were also important to achieve the result. “In relation to the faculty, it was through my former professor of Physiology, Dr. Iura Gonzalez, for whom I have immense affection and respect, that I learned about the Olympics. ”&nbsp; On the factors that intellectually contributed to the success of his award, Leonardo points out his curiosity. "Since I joined the Bahiana, I've always been fascinated by studying about how our bodies work. For me, physiology is a product of curiosity about the human organism. And, as such, it is driven by the most basic questions of all: “How does this work?”, “How does the heart beat?”, “How do we manage to perceive the world around us?”. That's what makes it so interesting to study. Not to mention its indisputable importance for the clinical practice of any health professional”, explains the student. Leonardo also recognizes that the institution's own teaching quality imposes itself as an important factor in winning 2nd place in the Olympics. “The Physiology and Molecular Biology classes were given by excellent professors, who at all times stimulated my curiosity and made that occasion a pleasant moment. Later, I became a component monitor and, in addition to having the opportunity to improve my understanding of physiology, I was also able to experience exceptional moments of interaction and interaction with colleagues from early semesters and with component professors. Therefore, the contact with good teachers and the experience as a monitor were invaluable.” In addition to public recognition, Leonardo received: a certificate from the Brazilian Society of Physiology, guaranteed registration for the entity's Congress in 2022, three books on medical physiology and a T-shirt.&nbsp;
