According to CNPq, a research group is composed of a group of researchers, technicians and students, organized around one or more lines of research. It is essential for the development of scientific activities.

Na Bahiana, the leaders of the various groups, in addition to coordinating the activities, are responsible for continuously updating information relevant to ongoing projects (such as lines of research, human resources and relations with the productive sector) in the Group Directory database of CNPq Research.

Currently, the Bahiana it has more than 37 certified research groups in various fields of the health area, recognized and awarded nationally and internationally.
