Professor and researcher Dr. Bernardo Galvão is awarded by the Organization of Ibero-American States

The award recognizes researchers for their trajectory and contribution to the training of new researchers.

The researcher and professor of the Medicine course and the Master's and Doctorate Program in Medicine and Human Health at Bahiana Dr. Bernardo Galvão Castro Filho has just had his career internationally recognized, with the Dr. Eduardo H. Charreau Award for Regional Scientific and Technological Cooperation, 2023 edition, in the category "Trayectory in exact, natural, biomedical and technological sciences", intended for researchers over the age of 46. The award is granted by the Argentine Association for the Progress of Sciences (AAPC), Asociación Interciência (AI) and Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI).

For this year's edition, 22 nominations were received from institutions in Argentina, Chile, Spain, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay and Cuba. The choice of winners was based on the trajectory of Ibero-American cooperation, the training of new researchers and the scientific production of the candidates.

According to Dr. Bernardo Galvão, it is extremely valuable to have our work recognized by our peers. “The award promotes greater awareness of the importance of scientific research”, points out the winner of the Dr. Eduardo H. Charreau Award. The award ceremony will be held in the first half of 2024, in Argentina.
