Inova+ Saúde Award: registrations open until October 4th

The Inova+ Saúde Award, an initiative by Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, in partnership with Maria Emilia Foundation, registrations are open until October 4th to encourage innovative ideas that respond to demands within the healthcare area. This year, the award will grant R$30 to the winning projects. The resources will be allocated to developing the project and training the team, whose actions will be developed within the scope of the Pre-Incubation Program in Innovation in Health at Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública. According to the dean of Research, Innovation and Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Atson Fernandes, the 3rd Inova+ Saúde award aims to promote science from the perspective of social impact. The proposal is to provide the academic community (teachers and undergraduate and/or postgraduate students) with the opportunity to present innovative ideas that can create and/or increase social technologies in three specific categories: Diagnosis, treatment or prevention of pathologies; Health education; Preservation of the environment. "The best proposals/ideas will have the opportunity to advance to develop the MVP (minimum viable product). To this end, in addition to the financial investment resource, the members of the award-winning groups (one in each category) will also be mentored by qualified professionals for the development of the proposed technologies", explains the dean.

For the executive director of the Maria Emília Foundation, Thamile Accioly, the award appears as a great opportunity for academic entrepreneurs: "We are very happy to support the Inova+ Saúde award, where we will stimulate academic entrepreneurs. Our purpose is to stimulate health and education, through these connections with partners such as Bahiana, always thinking about the social impact of these actions".
