A few meters from the Campus Brotas, the General Coordinator is located in a central neighborhood of the city. The building houses the institution's Rectory, as well as our Management and Quality Center (NGQ) and our Planning Advisory Board (ASPLAN).&nbsp; In the Coordination's gardens, there is a bronze statue of the late Professor Humberto de Castro Lima, former general coordinator of the FBDC. It is an environment surrounded by nature and historical landmarks of our academic community. Here, our students can contact the Institutional Academic Relationship and Internationalization Center (REAI) and the Research Ethics Committee (CEP). The General Coordination also includes the Distance Learning Nucleus (NEAD), the Educational Technologies Development Center (CEDETE), the Communication and Marketing Nucleus (NUCOM), the Evaluation Committee (CPA) and the Department of Infrastructure (DEPIN).
 In this building are also located the Commercial and People Development, Administrative and Financial, Legal, Communication and Marketing, Institutional Development and Social Impact Business coordinations.

General Coordination

With three pavilions and a modern structure, this campus is located in a central neighborhood of the Bahian capital. Are 7 laboratories, 23 rooms of class e 2 auditoriums to provide the ideal environment for academic and social development. Also on Campus Brotas, students, teachers, employees and the external public have access to a complete library with comfortable facilities and an up-to-date collection. Surrounded by a vast green area, this campus has 20 laboratories, 37 classrooms e 3 auditoriums. The library is also open to the outside community, with comfortable spaces for reading, studying and socializing. The environment has a modern and complete infrastructure, ample parking and social center with cafeteria. The Cabula Campus is also home to the Dental Center of Bahiana, where the Teaching-Care Outpatient Clinic is located, a field of practice for the quality training of dentistry students, from the 4th semester of the course, under the supervision of professors and has ability to serve up to 120 patients simultaneously. The Stricto Sensu Graduate Program at Bahiana had a whole day of lectures and debates, in order to mark the beginning of the academic semester 2023.1. The activities took place remotely, on February 10, with a live broadcast on the Zoom platform. The welcoming words were given by the dean of Research, Innovation and Stricto Sensu Graduate Studies, prof. Atson Souza Fernandes. "It is important to highlight that we, masters and doctors, according to the survey carried out by the OECD, represent less than 1% of the Brazilian population. This places us not only in a differentiated place in society, but also in the leading role of scientific development and improvement in the quality of life of our country's population", highlighted prof. Atson Souza Fernandes. The morning program had prof. doctor Michel Jean Marie Thiollent, who presented the lecture "Research-Action in Health: possible dialogues". Author of several books on the action-research method, Thiollent was open to questions from professors, masters and doctoral students who participated in the meeting. In the afternoon, the theme "Who is afraid of academic writing?" was presented by guest professor Dr. Priscila Tamis, also author of books such as "ESAIOS DE UM BELO OUTBREAK: what do the memories, health and experiences of a body tell?" and "Health and Subjectivity in Urban Mobility. Cartographic Experience of an (Im)Possible City".

Programming with guest speakers was broadcast live via the Zoom platform.

Lectures mark the beginning of the academic semester of the Stricto Sensu Graduate Program at Bahiana

“This is an event that has already become a trademark in the Bahiana🇧🇷 Health Tech was created to promote science from the perspective of technological development, innovation and, above all, social impact”. With these words, the Dean of Research, Innovation and Stricto Sensu Graduate Studies at Bahiana, Dr. Atson Fernandes, kicked off the 6th edition of Health Tech, on the night of November 30, with a live broadcast on the Zoom platform. The dean of the Bahiana, Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, professors, researchers and undergraduate and graduate course coordinators. More than 250 people attended the meeting. The program revolved around the lecture “Undertaking with Purpose: businesses that are better for the world”, presented by the Social Responsibility program consultant at the Bahiana and CEO of Pontos Diverse – Association for the Promotion of Sociocultural and Environmental Diversity – and Director of Diversity at ABRH BA, Renata Martorelli, mediated by the professor at Bahiana and director vice-president of Pontos Diverse, Carolina Barreto. At the end of the lecture, several professors discussed with the speaker about sustainable solutions in the area of ​​health education and public health. At the end of the event, as in every year, an award ceremony was held for the Best Papers presented at the XX Scientific and Technological Conference. About 30 first, second and third place prizes were awarded to undergraduate and high school students who are carrying out scientific research in the Bahiana.

The event was broadcast on the Zoom platform with the participation of more than 250 people.

The Dean of Research, Innovation and Graduate Studies Stricto Sensu of Bahiana just launched 1st Prof. Dr. Bernardo Galvão Castro-Filho for the best stricto sensu graduate dissertations and 1st Prof. Dr. Carlos Alfredo Marcílio de Souza for the best stricto sensu graduate thesis. In addition to honoring two great personalities in health research that give their names to the awards, the novelty aims to value the best works developed within the scope of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program at Bahiana with a view to promoting science in health. Bahiana launches awards for best dissertations and thesis

The Dean of Research, Innovation and Stricto Sensu Graduate Studies held, on August 23, the VII Seminar on Scientific and Technological Initiation, in a virtual meeting, held via the Zoom platform. The pro-rector of Research, Innovation and Stricto Sensu Graduate Studies, prof. Atson Fernandes, who chaired the opening table, the Dean of Extension of the Bahiana, Professor Carolina Pedroza, as well as professors and students from the Scientific and Technological Initiation Program at Bahiana. Today, the Program brings together 128 students among scholarship holders from the scientific initiation programs of CNPq, Fapesb, Bahiana, from the Cardiopulmonary Hospital, in addition to volunteer students (without a scholarship) and scientific initiation scholarships from high school. The news announced by Prof. Atson Fernandes, at the meeting, were the four new technological initiation grants via CNPq. According to the Dean, the main purpose of the Scientific and Technological Initiation program is to train people with critical, investigative, questioning, propositional and innovative thinking. "In addition to being part of a research project, the purpose is for them to have an experience of scientific initiation, being prepared for a market that has been very demanding". The highlight of the seminar was the lecture "Challenges and possibilities in the academic career", by researcher Prof. Dr. Jaqueline Goes.

Program has about 130 undergraduate and high school students.

Bahiana holds VII Seminar on Scientific and Technological Initiation

The scientific journals Journal of Physiotherapy Research (JPR), Revista Psicologia, Diversidade e Saúde (RPDS), Journal of Contemporary Nursing (JCN), Journal of Evidence-Based Healthcare (Evidence) and the International Journal of Education and Health (IJEH), which are part of the portal Bahiana Journals, have just been indexed by EBSCO, one of the leading companies in providing open access scientific content for research, managing e-journal and e-package subscriptions, and a leading provider of library, e-book and clinical decision solutions for universities, colleges, hospitals, corporations, government, schools and public libraries worldwide. The executive editor of the scientific journal portal Bahiana Journals, João Barreto, explains that the indexing process is similar to a quality seal, an endorsement by the scientific community for the journal. He tells that the Bahiana has been focusing on the professionalization of the sector's operational team, strengthening the training of executive editors and interns in the best practices in scientific publishing. Ahead of the scientific dimension of the editorial flow, the editors-in-chief of each title (professors of the Bahiana) are careful to compel editors, reviewers and authors to deliver methodologically rigorous articles that are as transparent and reproducible as possible. Marcos Almeida, and the Professional Master's in Psychology and Health Interventions, Prof. Mônica Daltro. The Maria Emília Pedreira Freire de Carvalho Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to foster, generate and disseminate knowledge and education and health technologies with social impact. The meeting had the objective of strengthening ties for the accomplishment of partnerships in the scope of research in the postgraduate courses of the Bahiana, including funding for master's scholarships in public health and scientific research.
