A few meters from the Campus Brotas, the General Coordinator is located in a central neighborhood of the city. The building houses the institution's Rectory, as well as our Management and Quality Center (NGQ) and our Planning Advisory Board (ASPLAN).&nbsp; In the Coordination's gardens, there is a bronze statue of the late Professor Humberto de Castro Lima, former general coordinator of the FBDC. It is an environment surrounded by nature and historical landmarks of our academic community. Here, our students can contact the Institutional Academic Relationship and Internationalization Center (REAI) and the Research Ethics Committee (CEP). The General Coordination also includes the Distance Learning Nucleus (NEAD), the Educational Technologies Development Center (CEDETE), the Communication and Marketing Nucleus (NUCOM), the Evaluation Committee (CPA) and the Department of Infrastructure (DEPIN).
 In this building are also located the Commercial and People Development, Administrative and Financial, Legal, Communication and Marketing, Institutional Development and Social Impact Business coordinations.

Also on Campus Brotas, students, teachers, employees and the external public have access to a complete library with comfortable facilities and an up-to-date collection. Surrounded by a vast green area, this campus has 20 laboratories, 37 classrooms e 3 auditoriums. The library is also open to the outside community, with comfortable spaces for reading, studying and socializing. The environment has a modern and complete infrastructure, ample parking and social center with cafeteria. The Cabula Campus is also home to the Dental Center of Bahiana, where the Teaching-Care Outpatient Clinic is located, a field of practice for the quality training of dentistry students, from the 4th semester of the course, under the supervision of professors and has ability to serve up to 120 patients simultaneously. A Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública established institutional partnerships with the University of Évora (Portugal) and with the Health Mentors program at the University of British Columbia (Canada). The latter, through collaborative research in Extension work at the HTLV outpatient clinic of Bahiana Health. Cooperation favors exchanges for studies or research at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels (master's and doctorate) in common projects. The objective is to develop new perspectives and global skills through international academic experience. The actions are coordinated by the <a style="color: #3598db; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://en.bahiana.edu.br/international-office/">Institutional Academic Relations and Internationalization Center (REAI)</a>. The internationalization of postgraduate studies is a fundamental strategy for the development of Brazilian science. Aware of this, the Bahiana has strengthened solid partnerships with important universities. In 2023, the coordinator of the Professional Master's in Psychology and Health Interventions program, Prof. Mônica Daltro, completed her post-doctorate at the University of Évora. "The experience of a post-doctorate expands several possibilities for developing research and building research networks. Today we have a doctoral student carrying out sandwich research, in Portugal, on the health of professionals in the prison system. It would be a research carried out only here, in Brazil, but, with these partnerships, it was possible to carry it out outside the country as well", explains Mônica. Currently, the Bahiana maintains partnerships with important universities in other countries, such as the University of Guadalajara (MEXICO); University of Porto (PORTUGAL); Concordia University Of Edmonton (CANADA), Universidad La Coruña (SPAIN); Case Western University (USA); University of Toronto (CANADA) and Universidad de Las Islas Baleares (SPAIN). <a style="color: #3598db;" href="https://en.bahiana.edu.br/partnership/">Click here to learn more.</a>

Bahiana signs partnerships with the University of Évora and British Columbia

<img style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="https://cms.bahiana.cworks.cloud/uploads/bahiana/originals/c96101cf-ae89-49bb-9d31-7a6c3e5c426f.jpeg" alt="Bahiana International Royal Exchange" width="700" height="1118"> The Center for Institutional Relations and Internationalization of Bahiana (REAI) gave away, on August 12, four places for the academic exchange of undergraduate courses at Concordia University of Edmonton (CANADA), to be held in 2023, lasting one semester. Eleven students from all undergraduate courses at the institution competed for vacancies. Academics Roberto Damasceno Borges and Gabriela Sandes Tosta Nascimento, João Vitor de Aguiar Fenari, from the Biomedicine course, and Clara Ribeiro Santana Rosa Barreto, from the Dentistry course, were randomly selected. In addition to full tuition fees at a Canadian university, the Canadian university's academic exchange program Bahiana grants a 50% discount, starting from the second month in progress, on the monthly fee for the undergraduate course at Bahiana. The benefit is granted only during the exchange period. The manager of the REAI, Maria Antonieta Araújo, says that, through the partnership between the Bahiana and Concordia University, a project is already being developed in collaboration with the LABYRINTO (Interdisciplinary Research Laboratory on Autism) at Bahiana: “This partnership is extremely important because it will open up opportunities for undergraduate, graduate and visiting professors from both institutions. This will make it possible, according to the manager, to participate in public notices for funds for the development of these researches”. Expanding opportunities for students, a new public notice will soon be launched to draw places at the University of Porto (Portugal), for the courses of Medicine, Psychology and Physical Education.

REAI holds a lottery for study places for academic exchange

The Center for Institutional Relations and Internationalization of Bahiana (REAI) has been promoting a series of actions aimed at the exchange of knowledge between professors and students of the institution and other educational and research entities in other countries. Among these initiatives is the academic exchange, carried out through partnerships with higher education institutions. <img style="float: right;" src="https://cms.bahiana.cworks.cloud/uploads/bahiana/originals/834dc108-0855-4053-97fa-cc0e6204d2e0.jpg" alt="Milena Portugal" width="400" height="267">The student of the Psychology course at Bahiana Milena Oitaven Osterne is currently residing in Portugal, where she participates in the academic exchange program at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto. She highlights as the main gains from the experience the possibility of knowing and experiencing another culture. "Getting to know another culture and another way of investigating and working in psychology has always aroused my curiosity and I was very happy when the opportunity to exchange and in such a prestigious college came up. a chance to enrich and complement my curriculum", he declares. She says that the Portuguese university offers many opportunities to study different topics in research groups, mini-internships, workshops, among other actions. "In addition, I cannot fail to mention the personal growth of experiencing an exchange, the chance to develop skills, such as social skills, and the opportunity to get to know Porto, being a welcoming city, with many university students of different nationalities, and easily passable . Daniela Costa Moraes is a professor of the Dentistry course and a doctoral student at the Medicine and Human Health Program at Bahiana. She is currently studying some subjects of the doctoral program in Public Health at the University of Porto (Portugal). "The experience has been very rich and challenging, after all, I'm taking classes in English, which favors the improvement of the language, and I'm getting in touch with new content, which allows me to acquire new knowledge, and that will probably to help expand my role as a teacher in the Bahiana". Institutional partnerships promote academic exchange for students and faculty at Bahiana

 A School Bahiana attended the World Partners Day, at the <a style="color: #007bff;" href="https://concordia.ab.ca/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE)</a>, In Canada. The event took place on March 25th and aimed to promote the approximation between partner higher education institutions, among them the Bahiana, which was represented by the coordinator of the Institutional Relationship and Internationalization Center (REAI) Maria Antonieta Araújo, received there with great hospitality by the president of that university, Dr. Tim Loreman, Vice President and Director of International Affairs, Dr. Manfred Zeuch and the International Relations Manager, Ms. Amanda Thorson.
In addition to the presentation of CUE's main academic activities and infrastructure to the guests, each institution had a space to display banners and materials of interest to international students. THE Bahiana included informational materials on undergraduate and graduate courses, research and extension activities, including the Portuguese language course for English speakers, which will take place online. the space of Bahiana at World Partners Day was visited by students and professors who participated in the event.
The fruits are already being generated from this meeting. A field of dialogue was established between Dr. Farzad Zare-Bawani, adjunct professor of the Doctorate in Psychology at CUE and researcher in the field of autism, and Dr. Bahiana - the Labyrinth.
The initial goal is the development of collaborative research involving exchange and short-term internships to exchange experiences between undergraduate and graduate students from 2023 onwards.
Currently three students from Bahiana – one in medicine and two in psychology – are on a mobility period at that University. The next public notice will be published shortly by the REAI and the Bahiana will have four mobility spaces.
