A Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública has just received the Socially Responsible Institution Seal for the 2023-2024 biennium, granted by the Brazilian Association of Higher Education Supporters (ABMES). The biennial certification recognizes institutions that develop actions aimed at promoting the social well-being of the communities in which these institutions are located.
Since the year 2012, the Bahiana is recognized by ABMES as an institution committed to improving the social context in which it operates. An example of this are the various extension actions, such as the Candeal Program, the Youth Care Center (CAJU), the Vida Plena Complex and the Bahiana Verde.
Also regarding the internal community, the institution has been developing a series of projects aimed at caring for and promoting the quality of life of its employees, such as the Bahiana Senior, aimed at career development for people over 50 years old, the implementation of a DE&I Committee, in addition to the benefits policy, such as the reduction in working hours for mothers who have children up to 1 year of age, release of hours per month for medical monitoring of minor children and elderly parents, financial guidance, among other initiatives that allow employees to receive the necessary support at times when they need it most.
