A few meters from the Campus Brotas, the General Coordinator is located in a central neighborhood of the city. The building houses the institution's Rectory, as well as our Management and Quality Center (NGQ) and our Planning Advisory Board (ASPLAN).&nbsp; In the Coordination's gardens, there is a bronze statue of the late Professor Humberto de Castro Lima, former general coordinator of the FBDC. It is an environment surrounded by nature and historical landmarks of our academic community. Here, our students can contact the Institutional Academic Relationship and Internationalization Center (REAI) and the Research Ethics Committee (CEP). The General Coordination also includes the Distance Learning Nucleus (NEAD), the Educational Technologies Development Center (CEDETE), the Communication and Marketing Nucleus (NUCOM), the Evaluation Committee (CPA) and the Department of Infrastructure (DEPIN).
 In this building are also located the Commercial and People Development, Administrative and Financial, Legal, Communication and Marketing, Institutional Development and Social Impact Business coordinations.

With three pavilions and a modern structure, this campus is located in a central neighborhood of the Bahian capital. Are 9 laboratories, 23 rooms of class e 2 auditoriums to provide the ideal environment for academic and social development. Also on Campus Brotas, students, teachers, employees and the external public have access to a complete library with comfortable facilities and an up-to-date collection. Surrounded by a vast green area, this campus has 20 laboratories, 37 classrooms e 3 auditoriums. The library is also open to the outside community, with comfortable spaces for reading, studying and socializing. The environment has a modern and complete infrastructure, ample parking and social center with cafeteria. The Cabula Campus is also home to the Dental Center of Bahiana, where the Teaching-Care Outpatient Clinic is located, a field of practice for the quality training of dentistry students, from the 4th semester of the course, under the supervision of professors and has ability to serve up to 120 patients simultaneously. A Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública will hold, in partnership with Obras Sociais Irmã Dulce (OSID), the 8st Multiprofessional Residency Symposium in Health Care for the Elderly, on March 8, from 17am to XNUMXpm, in the auditorium of the Professor Adib Janete Teaching and Research Center (CEPPAJ), located at the OSID headquarters, in Largo de Roma, in Salvador. The event will be held in a hybrid format (in-person and online), and registration can be done through <a style="color: #007bff; text-decoration: underline;" href="https://linktr.ee/simposiomultiprofissional" target="_blank" rel="noopener">this link</a>. Open to the general public, the symposium aims to discuss the importance of multi-professional residencies in the health area as a contribution to the quality of professional training within the SUS, in parallel with the 10-year anniversary of the start of the Residency Program at OSID. The event also proposes to discuss topics such as healthy aging, sexuality, rehabilitation and oncology in the elderly, the importance of the multidisciplinary team in gerontology, racism and gender in old age, among others. Multiprofessional Residency in Health Care for the Elderly The Multidisciplinary Residency in Health Care for the Elderly aims to specialize health professionals in the care of the elderly, with theoretical-practical development and qualified training for health care, based on humanistic and SUS principles, adding knowledge, skills and specific attitudes to be used in the promotion, protection and recovery of health. The program requires exclusive dedication and offers six places per year for nurses, psychologists and physiotherapists.

Bahiana and OSID hold 1st Multidisciplinary Residency Symposium on Health Care for the Elderly

Debating aging in the pandemic, public policies aimed at the elderly in Brazil and the controversial code MG2A, which classifies old age as a disease. This was the objective of the I Symposium of Multiprofessional Residencies of the Bahiana, which took place on March 4, in a virtual way, and brought together professionals, students and teachers. The event was organized by residents of the Multiprofessional Residency Program in Health Care for the Elderly, who are in the process of completing the Multiprofessional Residency Program, under the coordination of Professor Maria Olívia Sobral Fraga de Medeiros. The opening table, mediated by the resident Louise Cardoso, had the participation of the Dean of Extension of the Bahiana, professor Carolina Pedroza, professor Maria Olívia Sobral Fraga de Medeiros and the coordinator of the Multiprofessional Residency Program in Health Care for the Elderly and representative of the Irmã Dulce Social Works (OSID), a partner entity in the residency program, Prof. Iris Soeiro. "THE Bahiana believes in residences as powerful spaces for quality training for health professionals", pointed out Pedroza. For Íris Soeiro, residences are a space for deepening knowledge in approaching the elderly. "The residence is a legitimate space to contribute to the quality and strengthening of the SUS", declared the OSID representative. The meeting brought speakers with important names regarding the health of the elderly, such as Dr. Alexandre Kalache (RJ) and Dr. Dóris Rabelo (UFRB), who talked about aging in the pandemic, and Dr. Marcela Silva (UFRB) and Dr. Fabiana Longhi (PR), who discussed Brazilian public policies for the elderly. In turn, the theme “Is old age really a disease?” was presented by guest speakers Dr. Beltrina Corte (PUC-SP) and Dr. Maria Isabel Vitória de Carvalho (Inventiveness Project). The program also featured the speeches of resident students who were able to share their experiences within the program, in health units.
