The innovation marked the poster session of the XVI Scientific and Cultural Exhibition - which, this year, became e-posters, with digital files displayed on TV monitors. The exhibition took place in the courtyard and in the inner area of the library of the Cabula Academic Unit, on the second day of the XVI Scientific and Cultural Exhibition of Bahiana, held on the 6th and 7th of October.

According to the Nursing professor and coordinator of the space, Thaís Calasans, the change was focused on sustainability. “We finished with the printed works, all will now be presented in digital format. We brought this idea to the Bahiana thinking about sustainability because many posters were not even collected. Students reported that, after the presentation, the poster was thrown away. In this way, we are also avoiding costs, as they were expensive prints”.

For the manager of the Information Technology Center (NTI), Cláudio Santos, practicality is also a gain in the new format. “It is a trend at all conferences for printed posters to be replaced by TVs. We chose the TVs with the most suitable format, with no loss of space. The advantage is that the student can test their presentation with their pendrive, on their home TV”.

Altogether, the session featured 220 e-posters, 77 from PIBIC scientific initiation students and 144 from free themes. For the Physiotherapy student at Faculdade Ruy Barbosa, Alana Cerqueira da Silva, “the enrollment was very easy. I saw the disclosure on social media and the information was very clear on the website. This is my first time here at Bahiana, access was very smooth, everyone was very interactive, I was very well received”, says the academic who presented the research work on neurophysiological and morphological alterations in individuals with temporomandibular disorders.

Raíssa Oliveira de Araújo, 8th semester of Nursing, prepared the scientific initiation work PIBIC Bahiana especially for MCC. "It was very good to have presented here at the fair because we feel safer for presentations at conferences, outside the Bahiana”. She presented the research project Bioprospection of medicinal plants, “We are going to select plants traditionally used in the São Joaquim fair region and assess whether they really have antimicrobial activity”.

“As an evaluator, I noticed a large network that is formed between undergraduate and graduate students, students with PIBIC projects, professors with their reports of experiences of extension activities projects that they are coordinating and, all of this, with scientific methodology. The works are really very good and this new way of exhibiting with e-posters was a gain, as it is more dynamic, optimizes the use of space and avoids wasting waste", pointed out the dean of Undergraduate and Graduate Education -Graduation of Bahiana, Prof. Maria de Lourdes Freitas Gomes.
