Professor Patrícia Alcântara, from the Physiotherapy course at Bahiana and manager of teaching and research at Hospital Santa Izabel, will teach this Thursday (21) a class with transmission of high definition radiographic images between Hospital Santa Izabel and the Educational Technologies Development Center da Bahiana (CEDETE). Carried out as part of the OptiPortal project of the National Research Network (RNP), the activity will start at 8 am and will be attended by students and professors, both in the hospital auditorium and in the CEDETE videoconference room.

The Optportals system is a visualization tool that can be used for teaching, research and communication activities between two or more geographically distributed institutions and allows the processing of images in 4K ultra definition (image optimization four times greater than full-HD). With the system, it is possible to visualize complex data, simulations, time series, maps and videos in high resolution, from a remote or local source, in addition to enabling meetings via videoconference while multiple data, maps, simulations and/or presentations are displayed.

Bahiana has been using this technology since last year, when it received, through a public notice from the National Research Network, linked to the Ministry of Science and Technology, a concession to use the Optportals Sage System. Among the criteria for release, the candidate institutions should present a project for the best use of the technology.
