Share

The rain that fell this Friday, May 16, in no way interfered with the success of the lecture "Anti-Asylum Fight in Mexico: Hospital Dia" that took place at the Academic Unit Brotas and was presented by the Mexican physician, Dr. Alejandro Patino Roman.

The event was a realization of the Psychology course in commemoration of the Anti-Asylum Fight Day, celebrated last Sunday, May 18th.

In his explanation about Hospital Dia, Dr. Alejandro explained that the unit welcomes patients during the day, counting on the reception of the family in other periods. "Hospital Dia has the purpose of rehabilitating people with chronic mental illnesses between 18 and 25 years old and who can adjust to the model. But, in the case of acute patients - who pose a risk to their own lives and the lives of other people - the family he cannot be responsible for clinical care. Therefore, he must be hospitalized, with 24-hour care."

The lecture included the interlocution of the Psychology course coordinator, Prof. Mônica Daltro, and the Mexican physician, Ana Maria Barrera Tapia.
