3rd Academic Congress of Cardiovascular Surgery

Representing Bahiana, 6th semester students of Medicine stood out among the participants of the 3rd Academic Congress of Cardiovascular Surgery which took place during the 41st Congress of the Brazilian Society of Cardiovascular Surgery on April 3, 4 and 5, in Porto de Galinhas - PE. Of the 12 free themes accepted for Oral Presentation, five were from students of the Bahiana, in addition to the presentation of three works in poster form, two from the Academic League of Angiology and Vascular Surgery of the Bahiana (LACIV). 

The work "Description of hospital admissions for the treatment of CPA and their costs for the SUS", presented as a poster and authored by students Samara Rezende Requião, Jéssyca Victor Bacelar, Mayara Mendonça Sampaio, Paula Natassya Barbosa Argôlo and Maria Tereza Karaoglan Mendes Borges Lima won 1st place in the Best Poster category. In turn, the work "Importance of peripheral arterial assessment in patients with coronary artery disease" of the Academic League of Angiology of Vascular Surgery of Bahiana, also presented in poster form, won 3rd place in the Best Poster category.

The papers "Heart Failure: hospital costs in Brazil" by Jéssyca Bacelar; "Acute Myocardial Infarction: an approach to morbidity and mortality in Brazil, between 2008 and 2012", by Samara Requião; "Profile of cardiovascular surgeries performed in a reference center in Salvador, Bahia", by Melissa Carvalho; "Analysis of the current status of myocardial revascularization surgery in the Unified Health System: comparison between Brazilian macro-regions", by Kleber Freire and "Sociodemographic profile of individuals affected by chronic rheumatic heart disease in Brazil, 2008 - 2012", presenter by Jéssyca Bacellar.

In the form of a poster, the work "Endovascular treatment of coarctation of the aorta" by the Academic League of Angiology and Vascular Surgery of the Bahiana, presented by Ana Flávia D'Almeida.
