Graduate program of Bahiana holds seminar

Event is the result of integration between the Bahiana and John Hopkins University

The Academic Unit Brotas hosted, on March 7, the Seminar on Integration of Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública and John Hopkins University. The event was opened with the words of Prof. Marcos Almeida, Postgraduate, Research and Extension coordinator at Bahiana. Then, there was also a statement by Prof. Dr. Ana Marice Ladeia, coordinator of the Postgraduate Course in Medicine and Human Health who was in charge of the roundtable work at the event with the participation of Prof. João Lima, from the John Hopkins University and director of the Cardiovascular Imaging Service at the John Hopkins Hospital; of Prof. Carlos Rochitte, former Fellow of the John Hopkins University, currently a professor at the University of São Paulo and director of the Cardiovascular Imaging Service of the Instituto do Coração (INCOR_USP) and Prof. Dr. Luis Cláudio Correia, also a former Fellow of the John Hopkins University and adjunct professor at Bahiana.


Also present were professors Armênio Guimarães and Alina Feitosa, who actively participated in questioning the speakers, as well as students from graduate courses in Bahia.

The program of the meeting also included the defense of Anderson Armstrong's doctoral thesis, which had professors Luis Cláudio Correia and João Lima as advisors, concretely demonstrating the importance of inter-institutional integration, since, with data collected at John Hopkins and analyzed under the supervision of the two supervisors, the doctoral student presented, in his thesis defense, eight articles published or accepted in internationally recognized scientific journals.
