Medicine conducts a preparatory course for an internship at HGE

Held during the month of October, the course was aimed at students in the 9th semester of Medicine.

From September 30th to October 30th, students from the 9th semester of the Medicine course participated in another edition of the Preparatory Course for Medical Emergencies for Internships at Hospital Geral do Estado. The class participated in theoretical classes that took place weekly, in the night shift, at the Academic Unit Brotas.

Under the coordination of Prof. Dilton Mendonça, coordinator of the medical internship, the program included classes taught by professors Prof. Robson Reis, Prof. Paulo André Jesuíno, Prof. Leonardo Canedo, Prof. Sigfried Pimenta, Prof. Marta Menezes, Prof. Flavio Robert Sant'ana, Prof. Paulo André Jesuino, Prof. Paulo Barbosa, Prof. Karla Mota, Prof. Ieda Aleluia, Prof. Victor Andrade, Prof. Eliana de Paula and Prof. Marcus Vinicus Viana da S. Barroso.

The program included the themes "Basic Life Support", "Advanced Life Support", "Abdominal Pain", "Cranioencephalic Trauma", "Hypertension", "Fracture Approach", "Polytrauma Approach", "Shock", "Acute Coronary Syndromes", "Blood Transfusion and Blood Derivatives", "Asthma: approaching the crisis", "Headache", "Risk Management: how to ensure the safety of patients and health professionals in urgent/emergency situations" and "Burns".

The students also participated in a practical class held by members of the Liga do Trauma.
