Physiotherapist Day

The voices of the Choir Sings Bahiana started a special program that celebrated the Day of the Physiotherapist, on October 24, at the Academic Unit Brotas. The event featured an extensive program of workshops, in addition to the lecture "Physiotherapy in the present", given by the President of Crefito-7, Dr. Jose Roberto Borges dos Santos. In the audience, in addition to students, teachers and alumni, the counselor of CREFITO 7, Dr. Geraldo Melo.

After the lecture, the students participated in practical workshops with the themes: "Experiencing Incapacity", with teachers Moema Pires and Cintia Silva; "Use of the Swiss Ball in Physical Therapy Practice", by Professor Sandra Porciúncula; "Basic Notions of Solo Pilates" with former students Laís Pithon and Maria Gabriela Hage; "Experimental Research in Physiotherapy", by Prof. Bruno Góes and graduate student Diego Rabelo; "Manual Therapy with Emphasis on Massage Therapy", with the professor. Everton Steps; "Palpatory Anatomy", by former student Vitor Guida and "Respiratory Physiotherapy and Management" by professors Kaliane Pamponet and Maria Consuelo.

The event also rewarded the videos "TCC's Pleasure: Mission given is mission accomplished!", by the students of the eighth semester and "Como I See Physiotherapy", by the students of the second semester.

According to the coordinator of the Physiotherapy course, Prof. Luciana Bilitário, the objective of the event was "to celebrate the Day of the Physiotherapist, providing students with a practical experience with the practice of Physiotherapy, in addition to promoting integration between students from different semesters". She considers the initiative to be extremely important, "because it provides integration between future professionals, the students open up their horizons about job possibilities, meet other professionals and identify with the successful graduates of the course".
