PET Social Wheel welcomes Women of Steel

On October 10, 2013, the PET-ODONTO Group held the event "PET RODA SOCIAL - WOMEN DE AÇO" at Teatro Eva Hertz at Livraria Cultura in Salvador Shopping. With the support of Livraria Cultura, Grupo Reis (Carreiras & Oportunidades) and Instituto Caballeros de Santiago, the meeting was attended by guests Dr. Emília Blanco and federal deputy Alice Portugal.

Interviewed by Fátima Reis (Grupo Reis "Carreiras & Oportunidades"), they reported their life stories and the difficulties they faced during the development of their professional careers, especially highlighting the prejudices they faced in order to be recognized on the local and national scene.

The PET-ODONTO-EBMSP Group was established in 2009, in Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, upon approval in the Public Notice for the creation of PET Groups, launched by the Ministry of Education. It currently has 12 fellows and a tutor, Prof. Alena Medrado. The group develops several integrated teaching, research and extension activities, which aim to provide scholarship holders with a global vision of the reality that surrounds them, emphasizing the pursuit of excellence in their academic training.
