The 13th Scientific and Cultural Exhibition of Bahiana (MCC) was a celebration of science. Participants presented to guests, visitors, students, professors and researchers, 216 posters, 124 oral presentations and nine practical-living activities, in addition to social responsibility actions and interactions with society, during the 26th and 27th of September, at the Unit Academic Cabula.

In addition to the high scientific production, the success of the latest edition of MCC proved its longevity. "What is important for the Bahiana it's not just launching an activity, it's managing to keep it alive, growing. The great merit is that we are here today at the 13th edition of the Mostra, the 9th edition of the Journey of the Institutional Program for Scientific Initiation Scholarships (PIBIC) and the III Forum of Researchers at Bahiana”, said the coordinator of People Development, Prof. Luiza Ribeiro, during the opening of the event.

The host program also included the presentation of the TCC Elite Troop, formed by students from the Physiotherapy course. Guided by Prof. Cristiane Dias, the members of the troop told their experiences in the construction of the course conclusion work from an innovative perspective, prioritizing the quality of life of the student. “This is a presentation that the Physiotherapy course brought, which is to insert the work of construction of the TCC since the third semester and this is a joint action”, explained Prof. Cristiane Dias. All Tropa members participated intensely in the Mostra's program with oral presentations, posters and stands.

This year, the draw for tickets destined to participation in scientific congresses graced student Lailla Thayse Macedo Farias, supervised by professors Carina Oliveira Dos Santos and Cristiana Da Costa Libório Lago, who presented the work “Nursing Care and Alternative Therapies”. The other draw included the students Cristina Aires Brasil and Maria Luiza Veiga da Fonseca who, guided by Prof. Dr. Patrícia Lordelo, presented the work “Parasacral Transcutaneous Electrostimulation in Children with Overactive Bladder – Comparison between 2 and 3 weekly sessions”.

“We thought of an exhibition that would allow courses to work more interactively with the internal and external population. We prioritize a dialogue between actions and the rich and diverse space that the academic unit has. We saw that this interaction between the MCC proposal and the space favored this interactivity and gave more life to the event from various perspectives: better distribution and use of work and better distribution of activities in different spaces", explained the technical coordinator of the Psychopedagogical Care Center gives Bahiana (NAPP), Angelica Mendes.

for five years in Bahiana, the Anjos da Enfermagem project was honored for its 10 years of activities. Presented by Prof. Thaís Calasans, the group played and interacted with the public and, from the hands of teachers and the course coordinator, Prof. Maria de Lourdes Gomes Freitas, received commemorative plaques, marking the decade of work.

Social actions
As is traditional, MCC received groups of elderly people from the Monte Alverne house and the Candeal Program, children from the Engomadeira Municipal School, as well as teenagers from Colégio Estadual Governador Roberto Santos, who participated in playful and educational activities related to preventive health.

Guests were able to enjoy a real knowledge fair on oral health and hygiene, a “fantastic food trip through the human body”, lectures on sexual education and care for the elderly.

“In the end, we all left with the taste of joy and having witnessed the completion of academic works and very important social responsibility actions, in two days. The students and teachers did an excellent job, with a very positive vibe, felt by everyone, including the organizing committee”, celebrated Angélica Mendes.
