Meeting discusses violence and youth

Bahiana brings internationally renowned professionals in an event open to the public.

Knowing how to deal with violence and the demands of today are among the expectations of young people in this second decade of the 19st century. Discussing this context is the objective of the roundtable: Challenges of Contemporary Youth, which takes place next Monday, August 9, from XNUMX am, at the Academic Unit Brotas da Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, located at Av. D. João VI, 275, Brotas. The event is open to the public and will have free access.

The meeting, a realization of the Psychology course of Bahiana, will bring together important names in national and international Psychology, such as Dr. Rui Alexandre Paquete Paixão (University of Coimbra - Portugal) who will present the theme "Representations of Intimate Violence in University Students" and the president of the Culture and Extension Committee Dr. Leila Salomao de La Plata Cury Tradivo, University of the Psychology Institute of USP and responsible for the International Academic Agreements, who will address the theme "Identity Development Assessment (AIDA) in Adolescent Victims of Violence and Offenders: Basis for Prevention".

doctor Rui Alexandre Paquete Paixão
Graduated (1982), master (1986) and doctorate (1991) in Psychology from the University of Coimbra, where he is a professor. Published 38 articles in specialized magazines and 23 works in event minutes. It has four chapters from published books and 101 technical production items. In his professional activities, he interacted with 52 collaborators in co-authorship of scientific papers.

Leila Salomao de La Plata Cury Tardivo
Graduated in Psychology from the University of São Paulo (1977), Master (1984); PhD (1992) in Clinical Psychology and full professorship (2004) in Psychopathology at the University of São Paulo. He is currently responsible for International Academic Agreements, with Latin American countries, Portugal and Spain. He is president of the Committee on Culture and University Extension of the Institute of Psychology at USP. She is the coordinator of the Support Center for Culture and Extension Activities - Center for Excellence for Early Childhood. She is an associate professor at the University of São Paulo; at undergraduate and graduate level (master's and doctoral advisor); coordinates the Laboratory of Mental Health and Social Clinical Psychology at IPUSP (APOIAR). Has experience in Psychology, with an emphasis on Clinical Psychology, acting on the following topics: social clinic (violence against children and adolescents), psychodiagnosis and psychopathology, for children and adolescents. It has articles, books and book chapters published in these areas.
