Telemedicine and Telehealth Center Bahiana (NUTESB) will be inaugurated by the Telemedicine University Network (RUTE)

Ceremony will be transmitted via videoconference by CEDETE on the next 15th.

Bahiana it is highlighted, once again, among universities and health schools in Brazil, becoming a center for reception and dissemination of knowledge. On February 15th, at 8 am, the videoconference will be inaugurated. Telemedicine and Telehealth Center Bahiana (NUTESB), broadcast live by the Educational Technologies Development Center (CEDETE). NUTESB, coordinated by Profa. Dr. Marta Menezes, is the newest participant in the Telemedicine University Network (RUTE), a member of the National Education and Research Network (RNP).

In addition to the Nucleus of Bahiana, the centers of the University Hospital of Maringá (HUM), the State University of Maringá (UEM – PR), the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics Jamil Haddad (INTO - RJ), the Heart Institute (INCOR) will also be inaugurated simultaneously ), from the Hospital das Clínicas of the University of São Paulo (USP) and the Hospital for the Rehabilitation of Craniofacial Anomalies (HRAC – Centrinho), also from USP.

The Minister of Health Alexandre Padilha and the Secretary of the Department of Labor Management and Health Education of the Ministry of Health Mozart Sales will be present at INCOR's amphitheater, in São Paulo, from where the inauguration will begin. The ceremony will continue via videoconference to the other inaugurated centers.

With the new centers, the University Telemedicine Network will have 73 centers inaugurated and fully operational throughout Brazil. The initiative is considered the largest in the world, in the integration of university and teaching hospitals, connected to the National Education and Research Network. Collaborative research and continuing education use the connection to integrate 50 Special Interest Groups in various specialties and subspecialties of health in full operation with 600 sessions per year of video and web conferences; an average of two to three scientific sessions daily with the participation of 300 institutions, including some from Latin America.

Among other objectives, Rute integrates all public university and teaching hospitals, formally creates telemedicine centers, supports the realization of videoconferences, diagnostic analysis, according to continuing opinion and permanent education, and web conferencing, between university hospitals and universities, through the National Education and Research Network (RNP).
