Highlighting the importance of preventive care and the annual performance of mammography for women in the Candeal community was the focus of the breakfast that took place last Thursday morning, October 18, at the PSF/Candeal. The initiative came from the manager of the Family Health Unit, Sulamita Bezerra, and had the support of the Candeal Program, carried out by Bahiana and coordinated by the professor of the Psychology course, Maria Antonieta Araújo.

On the occasion, lectures on the subject were presented by doctors Graça Prisco and Lycia Peixinho, when they also announced the partnership of the Health Unit with the Teaching-Care Clinic of Bahiana with the purpose of offering mammograms.

During the program, Professor José Henrique, from the Physiotherapy course, and his team of students from the Candeal Program carried out a playful movement activity with all the women present.

Professor Renata Roseghini, from the Biomedicine course, one of the authors of the book "Education in Health in the Community: pedagogical elements of an interdisciplinary practice" made a historical approach to the Candeal Program in the community and its results. The event was attended by a large number of participants from educational groups since 2006.

Finally, Professor Antonieta thanked those present, reaffirming once again the importance of partnerships such as the one with Bahiana with the Health Unit. In addition to community residents, physicians, nurses, dentists, community agents, USF technicians and representatives of residents' associations are present. At that time, Antonieta delivered a volume of the book to each partner unit.
