Students of the Occupational Therapy course at Bahiana represented the School in the I Health Humanization Forum, held by the University of the State of Bahia (UNEB), on October 9th. On the occasion, the group of academics presented five papers whose theme was "Good Practices in Health Courses from Bahiana".

The works that emphasize the contribution of Occupational Therapy to the humanization of health in the hospital context were produced from the experience of students in the Supervised Internship by Prof. Carina Vieira, at Hospital do Subúrbio. The studies addressed the practice of Occupational Therapists through actions with companions and family members, as well as direct interventions with patients through leisure activities, creation of assistive technology resources to assist patients in the performance of their daily activities, as well as in the development of different communication and health education devices.

According to the teacher of the TO course, Moniere Coelho Cardoso, "the work of these professionals contributes to the functional health of patients, assisting in the (re)humanization and restructuring of their daily lives, in addition to promoting the autonomy and co-responsibility of the subject during and after the hospitalization process, putting into practice what is recommended in the hospital humanization policy".
