2nd Exhibition of Practices in Psychology

The coordinator of the Psychology course at Bahiana, Prof. Mônica Daltro, accompanied by professors Carlos Danon, Luciana Dias and Marilda Castelar, participated, on September 20, 21 and 22, in the 2nd Exhibition of Practices in Psychology, held at the Ahembi space, in São Paulo. The participation of Bahiana it had the presentation of 25 works and the presence of about 40 students from the Psychology course.

The Psychology Practices Exhibition is organized by the Federal Council of Psychology, which this year celebrated 50 years of regulation of the profession.

The event was attended by approximately 20 thousand people, including psychologists and students from all over Brazil, including great names in psychology, such as psychologist Ana Bock and Jayme Panerai, representatives of Libertas, the institution with which the Bahiana is establishing a partnership to carry out a postgraduate course in the field of bioenergetics.

The focus of the presentations was the plurality of psychology practices in Brazil. "There was a lot of debate about the responsibility of psychology in facing the inequalities of society, the expansion of research in its field of action and the importance of offering a comprehensive training for psychologists, based on ethics, interdisciplinarity and attention to the guarantee of human rights" , says Prof. Mônica Daltro.

The mandatory offer of the degree; the regulation of internships at the School of Psychology Service; the anti-asylum reform; the specifics of action with indigenous populations, on the street, in a situation of vulnerability in general, were some of the topics covered. "Race relations; attention to black women; the fight against homophobia; the implementation of the Truth Commission; the manifesto against the medicalization of education were also discussions that were highlighted", pointed out the coordinator.
