Meeting discusses CNBB campaign and SUS challenges.

“Fraternity and Public Health”, the theme of the 2012 campaign of the National Confederation of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB), will be the focus of discussion at the seminar “Campaign of the Fraternity and Challenges of the SUS”, which takes place on July 17, at the Cabula Academic Unit , from 18:30 pm. The meeting is aimed at students in the first and second semesters of the Medicine course, but it is open to the entire academic community. Bahiana.

According to one of the coordinators of the event, the professor of the Medicine course, Dr. Bruno Gil, "the meeting will provide a reflection on the current situation of the Unified Health System in Brazil." The event is also coordinated by the professors of the Medicine course, Dr. Sara Rocha and Dr. Mirian Marambaia.

The program will feature a speech by the Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Salvador, Don Giovanni Cippra, who will report on the actions that the Catholic Church performs in partnership with communities linked to the parishes of Salvador, with a focus on public health.

The second word of the evening will be from Dr. Jairnilson Silva Paim, professor of Public Health Policies at the UFBA's Collective Health Institute. It will address the challenges that SUS faces to achieve the objectives established in its statute.
