Candeal Program 2012.1

Share

I know that inside there still lives a little piece of me
A great love doesn't end like this
Foamed in the wind

That's the only yummy forró that cherished the Cabula Academic Unit on the night of Monday, June 11, marking, at a great pace, the closing of the activities of the Program Candeal 2012.1. This semester, the activity had the participation of 315 students from the courses of Biomedicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Medicine, Psychology and Dentistry who, divided into 24 groups, were guided by 19 tutors, professors from all courses at Bahiana.

For the first time in the history of the Candeal Program, as a conclusion activity, a poster exhibition was held with reports of experiences lived by the groups. In the opinion of the program coordinator, Prof. Maria Antonieta Araújo, “the exhibition presented very productive results. This action brings the work of teaching closer to extension and also stimulates research and scientific production”.

Another novelty pointed out by the coordinator is the registration of the research group of program professors at CNPq, in which two studies have already been submitted: “Impact of interdisciplinary work in a smoking group, involving acupuncture, Psychology, Nursing and Medicine” and “Impact of the actions of the Candeal Program in the Training of Students”.

A sensitive experience report was told by the 2nd semester student of Medicine, Monique Rolin. She, along with some students from other courses at the Bahiana, was part of the Social Inclusion Group, supervised by Professor Sidney Santana (Biomedicine), who worked at the Candeal Health Post, serving people with different levels of physical disability. “We seek to carry out activities that promote the inclusion of these people. We carry out craft workshops for making napkin holders, toilet paper holders and picture frames”. Monique highlights as one of the important aspects of the work the adaptation in relation to another individual, “one of the positive aspects is learning to mold to the other, developing more communication. We had to understand them and make ourselves understood by them”.

Enthusiastic, her group colleague and student of the 3rd semester of Nursing, Natasha Lisboa, says that the students themselves taught the workshops. “We researched how to make the pieces and we split up, with each member being responsible for a day in the workshop”.

And what does a health student learn from such an experience? “It was very important, because we were able to learn to deal with differences, we learned to deal with people who were different from us. We received a lot of affection, attention and respect and we had to learn to pay attention and care for each other. This is very important for a nurse”, says student Cecília Gouvea, 3rd semester of Nursing.

It's not a moment thing, passing anger
Mania that comes and goes, like a joke
Love leaves marks you can't erase

Another experience that addressed the sensitivity of students was the group Waiting Room: what to expect? Guided by Professor Celeste Sá (Psychology), the students developed a questionnaire to assess the profile of users in the waiting rooms of the State Center for Oncology (cican). “We made a form to assess the level of satisfaction, the relationship between doctor and patient, we talked about the types of care and held some lectures”, enumerates Maira Ramalho, a student in the 2nd semester of Medicine.

“We had to work to improve treatment adherence. So we were asked to prepare this questionnaire. The biggest difficulty we had at the beginning was that we didn't have a fixed group of patients to develop the work, because each day different people were there. But with this difficulty, we were able to adapt and develop activities such as the importance of laughter, so that they could relax more. We also did relaxation dynamics, working on breathing”, reports the author of the form, Talina Dourado, a 5th semester student in Psychology.

Other groups performed, in the waiting rooms of the ADAB (Brotas and Cabula) and IPERBA (maternity and outpatient), the activity Waiting Room: what to expect?

According to Prof. Antonieta, an action was also developed with the employees of the Cabula Academic Unit, as part of the Quality of Life Program at Bahiana. She highlights that the Bahiana is already in articulation with the Cabula Sanitary District so that the district's health post can count on the actions of the Candeal Program.

And not really knowing the time and what to do
I can't find a word to tell you
Ah! if i were you i would come back to me again

And one thing be sure, love
The door will always be open love
My look is going to have a party, love
when you arrive

A moment of relaxation, but also of recognition for the work done, was the performance of the tutor teachers “3 E's: E-strangement, E-confrontation, E-enchantment”.

And to end the rainy night, in addition to a lot of peanuts, cake and hominy, a northeastern trio stirred up the drag!

Look!
That this is very good
This is so good
Look!
Who's out wants to come in
But whoever is inside doesn't leave...
