Bromatology Course - Food Composition and Analysis

Biomedicine students from the 6th and 7th semesters can register until June 15th for the Bromatology - Food Composition and Analysis course that will be held from June 27th to 29th, at the Cabula Academic Unit. 

Coordinated by Professor Milena Soares dos Santos, the course aims to present knowledge of food science, identify the nutrients that are part of its composition, know the main methods of analysis and interpret them in accordance with current legislation.

With a duration of 20 hours, the syllabus is divided into: Fundamentals in Bromatology (composition and function of foods); Methods and analysis (sampling and sample preparation, additives and food preservation and sensory analysis); Determinations (moisture content in foods, ash content, lipid content, chloride content in sausages, fruit acidity and preservative content in milk); Interpretation in accordance with current legislation.

Investment: 800g of whole milk powder.

Opening Hours: June 27 and 28 - 06 am to 9 pm and 12 pm to 14 pm and June 17, 29 am to 06 pm
