Medical students participate in the Cardiology Congress.

Between May 30 and June 2, the XXIV Congress of Cardiology of the State of Bahia takes place at Bahia Othon Palace and, among the selected works, three were produced by students of the 6th semester of the Medicine course at Bahiana. Mortality from myocardial infarction in the city of Salvador, Brazil was carried out by students Eduardo Varjão e Felipe Santos Passos, guided by Dr. Pedro Muniz, general surgeon who works in the ICU of the State General Hospital (HGE) and graduated from Bahiana.

The following studies were also selected: Influence of surgical variables on the mortality of rheumatic patients undergoing double valve replacement surgery, chosen for oral presentation and Influence of clinical and echocardiographic data on the mortality of rheumatic patients undergoing double valve replacement surgery, for the poster mode. Both were developed by students Gustavo Maltez de Andrade, Rafael Marcelino Oliveira e Gabriela Tanajura Vizcaia, under the supervision of Dr. André Maurício Souza Fernandes, preceptor of cardiology at Hospital Ana Neri.
