Professional Master's in Dentistry

The professional master's has the mission of promoting technical and scientific deepening in specific segments of dentistry in order to provide professionals in the area with knowledge that enable the development of professional clinical, teaching or research practice, using the latter as a preponderant element in the production and analysis of scientific evidence.

AREAS OF CONCENTRATION


• Stomatology
Develops clinical and laboratory studies on lesions that affect the oral and maxillofacial complex as well as on the inflammatory process, in its different phases; provides for clinical assistance in the stomatological area; uses human, animal and laboratory models, employing transmission electron microscopy, histopathology, immunohistochemistry and histomorphometry techniques.

• Periodontics
It follows the line of development of clinical and laboratory studies, of an epidemiological, case-control and cross-sectional nature, on the etioimmunopathogeny of periodontal and peri-implant diseases, and their non-surgical and surgical treatment; conducts studies and assistance to patients in the area of ​​periodontal medicine and halitosis; studies tissue bioengineering, aiming at the reconstruction of lost periodontal/peri-implant structures; uses human, animal and laboratory models, employing techniques relevant to each study.

• Implantology
Develops clinical and laboratory work within the scope of osseointegration, particularly related to biomaterials and rehabilitation techniques indicated in implant dentistry; uses human, animal and laboratory models, employing biotechnology techniques, and others, pertinent to each study, in addition to assisting patients in the implantology clinic.

• Clinical Dentistry
It proposes qualification based on the elaboration of clinical, laboratory and assistance works within the scope of the dental clinic, particularly related to restorative biomaterials and oral rehabilitation techniques; uses human, animal and laboratory models, employing techniques relevant to each study.
