Provoking reflections on Mental Health Care from cross-cutting practices and knowledge, in the current context of Bahia, is the focus of the conference Stories in Mental Health What happens on May 18, from 8 am to 18 pm, in the Pátio do Pavilion III of the Academic Unit Brotas.

In the last two decades, as a result of social movements and public policies, the implementation of a new model of Mental Health Care in Brazil began, replacing the hospital-centered model, previously prevalent in the SUS. There were many impacts of this change and, among them, the need to build new methodologies and techniques to work in Primary Care and substitute services, essentially rethinking the training of health professionals, from curriculum matrices to methodologies of teaching. This process is still under construction, especially in Bahia which, due to some political particularities, delayed the beginning of this implementation. Thus, problematizing Mental Health in the Bahian context is really important for the education of our students.
