The Academic League of Clinical Emergencies (MILK) is an academic entity founded in August 2010 by medical students from Bahiana. Its main objective is to stimulate, expand and consolidate students' knowledge and interest in the area of clinical emergencies. In this way, the league favors a multidisciplinary approach to the topic, adding experiences in the area to the training of future health professionals, through classes, clinical sessions, round tables, symposia, conferences and courses.

An important point in the performance of LAEC is the enhancement of outreach activities, highlighting in this regard the development of internships in the outpatient clinic and surgical center of Hospital Geral Roberto Santos, the development of scientific research and presentations at conferences. In addition, LAEC provides for the implementation of outreach activities with the population, aiming to share information about the most common occurrences in emergency practice and, mainly, guiding people on how to recognize the severity levels in an emergency situation, thus reducing the mortality and incidence of common sequelae in these situations. Currently, the League is part of the Research Project "Profile of Emergency Doctors of the State of Bahia" and seeks to publicize all of its weekly classes, thus providing the opportunity for everyone to learn and understand more about the area of clinical emergencies .
