Union is strength and sustainability!

Course managers and coordinators participate in the 1st Sustainability Seminar of Bahiana.

Leaders, including managers and coordinators, participated in the 1st Sustainability Seminar of Bahiana which took place on the morning of February 10, at the Academic Unit Brotas. The purpose of the meeting was to raise awareness and commit the School's leaders to cost optimization and to contribute to the Institution's sustainability.

“We started the year with a bigger goal, which is sustainability, so that we can make another 60 years of institution viable. After all, this is a 60-year history of sustainability.” With these words, the director of Bahiana, Prof. Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, started the activities of the Seminar.

Among the points highlighted by Dr. Maria Luisa, the sustainability seminars that will take place throughout the year are some of the actions that reflect the implementation of the Strategic Planning of Bahiana, started in 2009.

“Planning goals are a scenario that we shape. Now, let's all work together in the same direction. The commitment of each one of us is everyone's responsibility”, declared Dr. Maria Luisa.

Next, the coordinator of Administration and Finance of the Bahiana, Emanoel Olimpio Alves de Souza, presented the class Sustainability in Bahiana: concept and context, in which notions of accounting and the legal nature of the School that is maintained by the Foundation were pointed out Bahiana for Science Development – ​​FBDC. “We are a self-sustaining institution. We live on what we produce”, he explained.

Finally, the Human Resources Manager at Bahaina, Telma Bastos, applied group exercises. The dynamic had the objective of training the managers to carry out, in the best way possible, the administration of their respective sectors.
