Bahiana: Best University of Good

Bahiana was the big winner of the 1st Nursing Angels Award for Social Responsibility, which also recognized Prof. Thais Calasans as the best local coordinator of the program.

“After I received the award for Best Local Coordinator, they didn't let me off the stage and, to my surprise, the Best Universidade do Bem award was announced for the Bahiana”, celebrates the professor of the Nursing course and local coordinator of the Anjos da Enfermagem program in Salvador, Thais Calasans. The ceremony that took place last Saturday, February 4th, ended the activities of the 4th National Coordinators Forum Angels of Nursing, held from February 1st to 3rd, in Fortaleza-CE.

The award is offered by Instituto Anjos da Enfermagem and contemplated, in several categories, entities and professionals that supported the program in 2011. The forum and the award had the participation of the program's creator, Jakeline Duarte, and representatives of the Regional Councils from Paraíba, Pará, Espírito Santo and Rondônia, in addition to the president of the Federal Nursing Council, Manoel Carlos Neri. 

In March 2011, the Bahiana was awarded by Instituto Anjos da Enfermagem with the title of Universidade do Bem, for carrying out playful and educational activities developed with children assisted in the pediatric oncopediatrics unit of Hospital Aristides Maltez. In the same year, the Bahian core of the program, which in Salvador is coordinated by professor Thais Calasans, received the Silver Award at the 3rd National Forum of Coordinators of the Angels of Nursing Program, for having met all goals in 2010.
