Scientific work of Bahiana is awarded in Brazilian Congress

Medical students win an award at the IX Brazilian Congress of Accidents and Traffic Medicine.

It is with great joy that the Bahiana congratulates the medical students Igor Ribeiro, Inaiah Muritiba Sampaio, Rafael Marcelino Oliveira (5th semester) and Major Jair Pereira from SALVAR for the scientific work “Epidemiological and Clinical Profile of Traffic Accident Victims in the city of Salvador-Ba”. The study was awarded second place at the IX Brazilian Congress of Accidents and Traffic Medicine, which took place on September 8, 9 and 10, in the city of Porto Seguro.

the students of Bahiana they were the only students to present a work at the Congress that was aimed at doctors from all over Brazil with research from major universities and medical schools, such as USP. “Both the first and third place were master's dissertations and the second place was ours. This is the great reason for considering this second place as a first”, celebrates the Professor of First Aid, André Zimmermann, supervisor of the work.

The presentation was made by student Igor Ribeiro. In the research, data provided by SALVAR (Accident and Rescue Victims Service and Movement) of the Bahia Fire Department were used, in a partnership between the Bahiana this important Pre-Hospital Care Service.
