August of the Arts

Share

Why does someone become an artist? Is it a taste for beauty? When we see someone very creative, we say: 'So and so' is a real artist! But why is art really so important to us? In fact, art emerged, as many say, with man himself, from the beginning. It humanizes, sensitizes, teaches and helps us to express feelings that are latent and others that are really deep.

Imbued with this spirit of humanization, the Psychopedagogical Care Center - NAPP, held at the Academic Unit Brotas, Agosto das Artes, an initiative that integrates the Sintonia.com project, which, among other actions, already holds debates, meetings and recreational events, such as the Cultural Wednesdays. The idea is to provide students, teachers and employees of the Bahiana, a democratic space, where everyone can express themselves freely and through the most diverse artistic languages.

During the event, it was possible to hang poetry on the “Poetry Clothesline”, either anonymously, with the text signed or even declaiming! Music also had its place. The Academic Unit courtyard stage Brotas it even hosted a guest band, Los Jacks, showing all their vigor with '80s-style rock'. In the field of visual arts, a true art gallery was formed and, every day, it was possible to check the work of some of our student-artists.

“Other readings” also gained space in Agosto das Artes. The famous “Caso dos Irmãos Naves”, by João Alamy Filho, “A Cidade eo Pilar”, by Gore Vidal and “Revoada”, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, were some of the titles available in the Literary Bookstore. To purchase any of the titles, all you had to do was take two other books, the ones you've already read, liked and would love to talk about with a friend. The idea was exactly that, to share the experience.

Over the three days, we had photo exhibitions with the UFBA Fine Arts student, Luã de Sousa; of painting, with the students of Bahiana Eduardo Pitanga, Psychology and Renan Batista, Medicine and drawings by Prof. Mônica Daltro.

Students from the 2nd semester of Psychology also participated in the organization of the event: Fernanda Oliva, Julio Requião, Paulo Gonzaga and Madalena Fateicha.
