10th JOBA

Friendship, hard work, union and joy in doing. Put like that, it doesn't even seem that these feelings are linked to an academic, scientific and extension activity. But it was in this way that the participants of the opening table of the 10th Meeting of Dentistry at Bahiana described the process for holding the event, which this year broke a record with 700 registered participants. On the night of August 25, in the auditorium of the Convention Center of the Bahiana, at the Cabula Academic Unit, the professor and coordinator of the Dentistry course, Urbino Tunes, enthusiastically started the activities of the 10th edition of JOBA.
In your speech, Prof. Urbino highlighted each of the students and teachers responsible for the organizing committees since the first JOBA, in 2002. More than a proof of good memory, the course coordinator reported on the importance of each one in the success of the Journey.
Each year, JOBA honors a teacher in the house for his merits as a teacher. In this edition, the honoree was Professor Atson Carlos de Souza Fernandes, who celebrated the milestone of 700 entries for the event. "This demonstrates the competence of the commission that has been organizing JOBA all these years."
The professor of the Nursing course and Vice-Coordinator of Graduate Studies, Research and Extension of the Bahiana, Carolina Pedrosa, Prof. Dr. Andréa Cavalcanti, professor chair of the organizing committee, the student chair of the organizing committee, Antônio José Guttenberg Neto, Dr. Avilmar Passos Galvão, representative of the graduate alumni, and the guest speaker Gilson Sidney, from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR).
“It is an event that deserves to be congratulated, as it involves the faculty and students and I confess that I was surprised with the number of entries, which is the result of the efforts of these young people at the Bahiana”, declared Sidney.
For Prof. Andréa Cavalcanti, the event is “a reason for pride and joy. I have participated in this story since the 1st JOBA, when I was still a student, and chairing the 10th JOBA committee is also a little bit of my life. JOBA is a great scientific event that is also a great meeting between friends”.
During the three days of the Journey, 10 conferences were held, eight Hands-On (practical courses), four courses, plus a symposium and a round table.
