Freshmen Week 2011.2

Os New from Bahiana, as the freshmen are known around here, were received with a special welcome, as is done, in every semester, by the Psicopedagógico Care Center - NAPP. 

The activities began at 08:30 am, in the Auditorium I of Pavilion III of the Convention Center of the Bahiana, located in the Cabula Academic Unit. To warm the reception, the event was attended by the coordinator of People Development, Prof. Luiza Ribeiro, as master of ceremonies. She reminded new students of the importance of this phase of their lives, emphasizing the seriousness of becoming an adult and how fun it can be, too.

Then the director of Bahiana, Prof. Dr. Maria Luísa Carvalho Soliani presented the institution, always highlighting the School's concern in forming knowledge with a focus on the humanization of the professional, who are aware of their role in society.

Another important point raised by the director was the importance of the multidisciplinary work required in health teams and already worked in the Bahiana, since the beginning of graduation, with the participation of students from all courses in projects and actions, such as the Candeal Project, which, at the time, was presented by the Postgraduate, Research and Extension coordinator at Bahiana, Prof. Dr. Kátia Sá.

The students present were also able to attend a presentation about each course, given by the respective coordinator, as well as about each sector of the School (NUCOM, NAPP, Academic Secretariat, among others). The program also included a sensitive presentation by the Choir “Sings Bahiana".

In the second part of the event, students and parents, also present at the freshman, participated in the Rhythm and Dance Workshop - Making Ties, which culminated in the construction of the Network Bahiana.
