IMPROVEMENT IN PHYSIOTHERAPY IN NEONATAL ICU

 

Innovative, the improvement course emphasizes the practice of Physiotherapy in the Neonatal ICU, promoting the qualification and updating of professionals who wish to work in the segment through the exercise of skills, abilities and in accordance with the peculiarities of the area.   


PROGRAM
Anatomo-physiological Characteristics of the Newborn (NB), Prematurity, Peri-intraventricular Hemorrhage, Neonatal Pain, Nutritive and Non-nutritive Suction.

Physiotherapy in Respiratory and Cardiac Diseases of NBs - Transient Tachypnea, Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Meconial Aspiration Syndrome, Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia, Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, Pulmonary Hypertension, Atelectasis, Apnea of ​​Prematurity, Pneumopathy, Pneumonia.

Physiotherapy in the pre and post-operative period of general surgeries - Omphalocele, Gastroschisis, Esophageal Atresia, Myelomeningocele.

Motor Physiotherapy in the ICU - Tactile Stimulus, Therapeutic Exercises, Positioning, Invasive and Non-invasive Ventilatory Support.


TARGET AUDIENCE
Physiotherapy professionals and students from the 6th semester on.


WORKLOAD
120 hours.


FREQUENCY
May to September 2011 - Applications are open.


THEORETICAL CLASSES
Saturdays, from 8 am to 12 pm and from 14 pm to 18 pm. Location - Academic Unit Brotas.


PRACTICAL CLASSES
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm or 13:30 pm to 18:30 pm. Location - Albert Sabin Maternity Hospital.


INVESTMENT
