National Effort for Pain Education

This Saturday, June 11, 2011, from 8 am, the National Effort for Pain Education. The event will be held at Newton Rique square, in front of Shopping Iguatemi, and aims to serve individuals with the intention of offering knowledge about pain. This project was conceived by the Liga sem Dor of Curitiba and this year will be expanded throughout the country in partnerships with other Academic Leagues, entities and educational institutions in cities such as Curitiba-PR, Londrina-PR, Fortaleza-CE, Taquaritinga-SP, São Paulo -SP, Joaçaba-SC, Teresina-PI, Taguatinga-DF and Salvador-BA, through the Academic League Bahiana for the Study of Pain – LABED.

CHRONIC PAIN
Chronic pain often arises from bodily adaptation to persistent painful stimuli that, in most cases, cannot be cured. Thus, there is the importance of prevention for states like these. One of the therapeutic ways is the Pain education with which, through educational programs (lectures on the subject and discussions), the patient obtains information about their condition and the multidimensional repercussions. This mechanism has shown excellent results in the analgesia of the individuals studied, which reiterates the importance of disseminating knowledge to people.
