Academic League wins first place in international congress

The Bahia Academic League of Palliative Care - LABCP - won first place in the Poster category, in the IV International Congress on Palliative Care which took place in São Paulo, on October 08th and 09th. With only 07 months of experience, the League presented a report on the formation of an academic league.

“We attribute this achievement to a joint effort by all League members, as we wear this shirt in order to delve into this theme, which is visibly on the rise in the world health scenario and which should have been a reality for some time now”, declares Aline Palmeira , president of the LABCP, on behalf of the group.

LABCP birth
Realizing a shortage on the study of the theme “Palliative Care”, in Salvador, a group of undergraduate Nursing from Bahiana decided to transform this reality, inserting an Academic League in the health scenario. Thus, the LABCP was born with the purpose of developing, in a balanced way, actions in the academic triad of teaching, research and extension, involving a multi and interdisciplinary character.

ANCP Congress
Held every two years by the National Academy of Palliative Care, the International Congress of Palliative Care is the largest Brazilian scientific meeting in the area. Its objectives are to discuss the most relevant themes for the development of Palliative Care in Brazil and present the main researches and academic works. At each edition, the Congress also invites recognized international palliative care providers to share their knowledge with Brazilians.

“This award demonstrates the strength of the integration of a team that believes that, despite all the difficulties faced as students, we can make a difference in the health scenario in Bahia”, celebrates Aline and the entire LABCP team.
