XNUMXst Biotechnology Workshop in Bahia

RESEARCHERS DISCUSS ADVANCES IN BIOTECHNOLOGY

Discuss the main technological advances applied to health. This was the main objective of the XNUMXst Bahia Workshop on Biotechnology Applied to Health, an achievement of Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, which took place on May 21 and 22, at the Cabula Academic Unit, with the presence of researchers from different institutions, such as the University London, Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ), Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), Catholic University of Salvador (UCSal), Center for Biotechnology and Cell Therapy at Hospital São Rafael (CBTC/HSR) and University of the State of Bahia (UNEB).

The meeting also had the objective of promoting exchange and scientific discussion, establishing collaboration networks; to integrate experiences from the different areas of biotechnology and provide teachers and students with updates on the main biotechnological advances applied to the health area. 

During the two days, postgraduate and undergraduate students in the health area participated in professional activities (Biomedicine, Nursing, Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Physiotherapy, Biology and Dentistry) from different educational institutions in Bahia.

As preparatory activities, on Friday (21) in the morning, the following mini-courses were held: Advanced Topics in Clinical Analysis, Oncotic Cell Biology, Aesthetic Acupuncture, Strategies for the Development and Use of Gene Vaccines and Histological Processing Techniques. The official opening of the Workshop took place in the early afternoon of Friday and was attended by representatives from the direction of the Bahiana. During the two days, dozens of lectures and conferences were presented by important researchers from all over the country. Check out the photos.
