With the theme "The brain in the tech world", the Bahiana coordinated the XIII Brain Week Bahia 2024, an event held in several cities around the world, from March 11th to 16th. The action is an initiative carried out throughout Brazil by the Brazilian Society of Neurosciences and Behavior and is an integral part of Brain Awareness Week (BAW), a global campaign to publicize neurosciences. Throughout the week, activities were carried out aimed at the elderly and people with disabilities, as well as art and technology actions, all related to brain activity. Bahia Brain Week 2024 was coordinated by professor Dr. Kátia Sá, neuroscientist and professor of the postgraduate program and leader of the Dynamic Research Group of the neuromusculoskeletal system at Bahiana.

"The idea of Brain Week is to bring society in general closer to neuroscience. We want neuroscience to not just be for scientists and for the population to follow what we, who study the brain, are developing in this field of research", explained prof . Dr. Kátia Sá. Among the host institutions, UFBA, UNEB, CEPRED, SENAI/CIMATEC, was Bahiana, which concluded the scientific activities with actions aimed at children and adolescents, in the morning and afternoon, with a series of lectures on neuroscience for professionals and academics. On Saturday, Shopping Bela Vista was the final host, offering visitors games, virtual reality workshops, introductions to health apps and interactive experiments.

The Cabula Campus received students from Elementary School II at Colégio Estadual Francisco da Conceição Meneses for educational activities carried out in the Morfofunctional Laboratory. "It is always important to use this laboratory space as a way of providing knowledge not only to those in academia, but also to other people. When we bring children and teenagers to this space, all the content is adapted to their language , and this is important, in the sense of popularizing knowledge and science, showing a path, a possibility for these visitors", declared Professor of Medicine Rafael Lélis.
