Health Mentors Extension Program Bahiana attends Technical Session

As part of the programming of the HTLV D-Day of Struggle and Confrontation, celebrated on September 28, the Health Mentors Extension Program of Bahiana It was presented by its members, including teachers, students and mentors. The event took place during a technical session at Multicentro Carlos Gomes, from the Municipal Health Department (SMS).

Representing the program were vice-coordinator Prof. Selena Dubois Mendes, psychology extensionist Valdemar Ferreira Viana Neto, and health mentors Maria das Graças Bispo Machado and Laurides Farias Santos, members of the HTLVida Association, a partner in the initiative.

The Health Mentors extension program Bahiana is a unique educational experience, in which teams of students from different undergraduate courses at the Bahiana they learn together, with a person living with a chronic condition as their health mentor. In the case of this pilot project, the health mentors were members of the HTLVida Association.
