The Coronavirus Prevention and Combat Committee of Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, following the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, communicates the decisions taken to contain the dissemination of the coronavirus:

1. MAINTENANCE OF UNDERGRADUATE AND POSTGRADUATE CLASSES
For now, classroom activities will be maintained, as there are no cases registered in Salvador or evidence of sustained circulation of the virus in Bahia. The decision is in accordance with the recommendation of the health authorities.

2. MAINTENANCE OF HEALTH SERVICES
The Medical Center, the Dental Center and the Physiotherapy and Psychology Clinics will maintain their activities, also in line with the recommendations of the health authorities.

3. ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES IN EXTERNAL FIELDS
EBMSP is in contact with its partners to assess the best conduct. Any changes in activities and schedules will be promptly communicated on the institution's website, social networks and other communication channels.

4. CANCELLATION OF PLANNED EVENTS
EBMSP suspended all events that gather people, as directed by the Ministry of Health. Congresses, symposia, graduation ceremonies, possession and delivery of honorary titles, commemorative, scientific, artistic, cultural and sporting events were canceled and should only be rescheduled upon restoration of normality. In case of doubt, contact the organization of the event.

5. CONDUCT IN CASES OF FLU SYNDROME
The EBMSP asks that students, employees, professors and patients with flu-like illness (characterized by fever and another flu symptom, such as body or throat pain and cough) not attend the institution and immediately call 136, the service channel Ministry of Health, to seek guidance on how to proceed.

Special attention must be paid to recent travel to countries and states with local or community broadcast registration.

The School will not require a medical certificate for the absence of an employee, teacher and student included in the cases described above. As a collaborator, please notify the immediate manager, as well as professors must communicate to the course coordinator and students must inform NUSP.

6. RECOMMENDATION FOR MEETINGS AND CONCLUSION BOARDS
Course completion meetings and boards must be carried out using digital communication tools.

7. CANCELLATION OF NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL TRIPS
National and international travel related to the institution's activities are suspended.

8. REINFORCEMENT OF SANITATION
EBMSP is committed to intensifying its cleaning services, aiming to maximize the effectiveness of disinfecting bathrooms and surfaces, such as tables, countertops, door handles, keyboards. The institution will also implement an educational campaign to promote best practices.

In places without access to sinks, the School increased the number of bottles of alcohol gel, now available in all classrooms and circulation areas.

9. HABIT CHANGES
To help contain the spread of the virus, everyone needs to do their part, changing some habits that put the health of the community at risk. During this phase, we should not greet each other with handshakes, hugs and kisses, avoiding body contact. You should also cover your mouth with your elbow and avoid using your hands in case you cough or sneeze. Do not forget to wash your hands or rub alcohol gel whenever you handle commonly used objects such as doorknobs, keyboards, mice and handrails. Also avoid bringing your hands to your face, mouth, nose and eyes before cleaning them.

The EBMSP will communicate daily with state health authorities, managers and specialists in public health and infectious diseases to ensure that it will always and appropriately adopt the necessary measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus in our community.
