Psychology Graduate from Bahiana presents CBT on autism at world congress

The psychologist was invited to participate in the event by the organization of Mental Health 2020.

The graduate of the Psychology course at Bahiana, Mayara Yasmim Pinto Borges, was invited to present her Final Paper at the 2nd World Congress on Mental Health (Mental Health 2020). Entitled "The Enigma of the Subjective Constitution in Autism: a psychoanalytic analysis of Temple Grandin's autobiography", the TCC, defended in 2018, was guided by professor Maria Luiza Sarno Castro. The congress will take place on June 24th and 25th, 2020, in Paris (France). 

Mayara Borges explains that CBT deals with the subjective constitution of autism based on the autobiography of Temple Grandin, an autistic woman considered to be high performance. As for the participation in the world congress, in France, she emphasizes that the subject is excellent for discussion in the area of ​​mental health. “It's an honor, and I'm very happy to share some of this study. The objective is that, more and more, autism can be debated in an international and highly relevant context", shares the graduate of Bahiana. 

Mental Health 2020

The 2020 World Congress on Mental Health will have the theme: "Unraveling the mysteries of human decorum". The conference will feature seminars and workshops from internationally recognized experts and academics. In addition, the event will promote the integration of members of universities and institutes with the aim of forming partnerships. 

The invitation for the graduate to participate in the event was due to a publication in the Revista Psicologia, Diversidade e Saúde, scientific journal of Bahiana. "As the TCC was published in the magazine of the Bahiana, the organization of the event had access, became interested and got in touch to formalize the invitation”, describes the psychologist.
