Coordinator of the Dentistry course at Bahiana is the newest immortal of the Brazilian Academy of Dentistry

The coordinator of the Dentistry course at Bahiana, prof. Dr. Urbino Tunes, is the newest member of the select group of immortals at the Brazilian Academy of Dentistry. The solemnity of investiture, which granted to the professor of Bahiana the title of Honorary Academic, took place on November 18, at Casa do Alto, in Alto da Boa Vista, Rio de Janeiro.
The title is given by the rich and prolific academic and professional life of the professor, who coordinates the undergraduate course in Dentistry at Bahiana since its inception in 1998.
The ceremony was coordinated by the president of the Academy, Dr. Mário Groisman. During the swearing-in ceremony, the academic Dr. Liana Lima Pinheiro read a summary of prof. Urbino, with emphasis on his training and exercise of academic practice, in teaching, research and extension, his experience in university management and professional category associations, as well as the regional and national awards and honors already received, recording the apex of a victorious professional career, with the entire collection of personal and professional heritage put to the test, being, for all its merits, recognized as such.
Honored and flattered by the deference, prof. Urbino highlighted the importance of his trajectory by the institutions in which he practiced his profession, citing especially the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, as well as the Federal University of Bahia and the Brazilian Dental Association, foundations of his professional life and human improvement. "It is, therefore, an honor and glory to be like this: legally qualified as an academic in Brazilian dentistry!", he celebrates.
