The project To beach was awarded in September by the Sustainable Cities Program, in relation to the Reduction of Inequalities, in the category "Small, medium and large cities". The Sustainable Cities Program is carried out in partnership with OXAFAM Brasil, a global confederation that aims to combat poverty, inequalities and injustices around the world. The project won 2nd place in the award, which aims to recognize the country's municipal administrations that practice successful and innovative public policies in reducing inequalities, with concrete and measurable.

ParaPraia is an action that provides the community with adapted sports and leisure, including support for bathers through amphibious chairs, access lanes, sports equipment, tents, recreation spaces, umbrellas, restrooms and chairs for companions. The initiative is the result of a public-private partnership between the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública and the Municipal Secretariat for Sustainability, Innovation and Resilience (SECIS) of the City of Salvador. It also has the support of lifeguards and municipal guards.

Bahiana has participated in the project since the first edition, held in 2014, offering support and full technical and professional assistance through the institution's students and professors, which, in turn, is also responsible for selecting, training and organizing the team of volunteers.
