According to Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, the moment was conducive to great reflections: "We exchanged a lot, it was a very special moment. It was very good to receive everything that was shared from the speakers. I would just like to say that, despite the context being difficult, it is possible to be happy and that happiness is not in success, in money, in physical beauty, it is much more than that and it has its moments of sadness, of difficulties".
The debate brought prominent speeches, such as that of the professor of Medicine at UFBA, Sumaia Boaventura André: "I am deeply moved, not only from an intellectual point of view, as we had here a storm of ideas based on insightful views, but also very emotionally moved, because I felt contemplated in the anguish of this exacerbated time. I am 65 years old, but I am persistent and resilient within my institution and, of course, I am a teacher, educator and I found myself in the point of view of social function that I exercise with a lot of love and a lot of effort, to successively adapt to changes."
And, at times, feelings, discomfort and solutions were shared. "We live in a moment when technologies make my work increase, it is at this moment that we have a student who comes from an organization and from a different learning experience than ours and we have to be prepared to receive them, because we are told that we need to take care of them. Today we are invited to listen to them from their place, so that they can stay in college and complete their course. But when the day is over, how are we?" asked the professor of the Psychology course at Bahiana Aline Tonheiro Palm Tree.
After lunch, the forum brought the lightness of art. At first, the teachers participated in a playful dance exercise, conducted by tango teachers Vitor Rocha and Bianca Lima. Afterwards, a light chat about the topic
"Where do art and health meet?", with Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, writer Mabel Veloso, author of
book "Lighthouse", illustrated by the teacher at Bahiana who also participated in the table, Caroline Feitosa. In her speech, Caroline explained some concerns about the place of the teacher within the school and in society, the relationship between art and health.
With Mabel Veloso, the teachers left their role as teachers a little, dressed the persona of students and were taken to visit several stories told with mastery by the teacher, who culminated her participation by telling the story of "Farol", a tribute to educators, whose plot features a father who plays with his children of "What will you be when you grow up?" and ends up being surprised by her daughter's response: "I'll show you where to go and where to go, safe paths, where the waves of life don't let the boats overturn. I'll help you look far, far away! I want to be light to clear those in the dark , without knowing how to make good choices. I will show the signs, the signs that indicate the best roads to take."
The final part of the meeting was a real art class given by Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani. Visual arts, theater, literature and music were presented in a panorama, showing how these languages were part of her life and contributed to her formation and vision of the world. With those present, the dean shared a video in which she interprets a piece by the composer Frédéric Chopin on the piano.

The second day was the time to celebrate the traditional Golden Bourbon, an award given to teachers from Bahiana for its high performance in teaching. This time, the coordinator of the Dentistry course at the Bahiana, prof. Urbino Tunes, who has been in charge of the course for 21 years, and the coordinator of People Development, Luiza Ribeiro, also a pedagogue and always a participant in pedagogical projects, such as the Psicopedagócia Care Center – NAPP, where she has already coordinated and worked in the selective training process of the Bahiana. "Receive this award from Bahiana it is an extraordinary recognition. I'm very emotional because it goes back to my twenty-three-year work trajectory. It was a journey of many achievements in our Dentistry course: many students went on to pursue a master's, doctoral and residency. All of this gives us enormous pleasure and great pride. I am grateful for this honor, and it represents many people who work hard with me," declared Prof. Urbino Tunes.
"The Pedagogical Forum is a very important moment for us. We are in the fifteenth edition and this says a lot about the Bahiana, who believes that it is necessary to have moments of meeting focused on promoting the development of the faculty. The mission of our institution is to train competent people with a sense of collectivity. Today I also feel amazed, as I received this award as a surprise and I am honored. It's like receiving a family birthday present because the Bahiana it's my home. I am very happy and I am grateful to Dr. Maria Luisa Soliani for the recognition", celebrated Prof. Luiza Ribeiro.
The moment was also one of important announcements, such as the 31st place in the Bahiana in the GPTW National Ranking, which brought together more than 2.500 large Brazilian companies, being therefore recognized as one of the Best Companies to Work for in Brazil in 2019. Academic achievements of each course were also announced, such as the SAEME seal of the course in Medicine, the internationalization of courses through partnerships with educational institutions in other countries and grade 5, in the MEC, of the Physical Education course. "We got 5 in all the criteria required by the Ministry of Education and another thing I would like to point out is the book we launched as a course conclusion work, giving value to students who have already left the course with a published chapter", informed the professor Ciro Queiroz.
Guided by the words of Dean Maria Luisa, all participants were involved in a great dynamic and, together, weaved a gigantic blanket, in which they involved feelings of solidarity, altruism, mutual care and self-care.
"O Balanço da Rede" was the last panel with the participation of Professor Sandra Brasil, coordinator of PROIDD, and Iêda Aleluia, professor of the Medicine course, specialist in Education and member of PROIDD. This forum is designed based on discussions with professors during throughout the year and, in this edition, we seek to outline an approach that would stimulate sensitivity, perception and reflection on ourselves", summarizes Sandra Brasil.
