I Bioimaging Symposium of Bahiana brings together big names in imaging
The event was the result of the TCC of the Postgraduate Course in Bioimaging class

With a light and friendly communication, the radiology technician, specialized in Magnetic Resonance and author of the website SIMPLIFICANDO RESSONÂNCIA, Joice Brandão, was the first speaker at the I Symposium on Magnetic Resonance at Bahiana, which took place on August 10, at Campus Cabula, with the participation of more than 120 subscribers. The opening table was made up of the event coordinators, Gabriel Queiroz, professor of the Biomedicine course, and Geraldo Ferraro, coordinator of the undergraduate courses in Biomedicine and Postgraduate courses in Bioimaging at Bahiana, in addition to Professor Edson Oliveira, honored by those present at the time.

The event was the result of the Course Conclusion Work of the Post-Graduate Course in Bioimaging at Bahiana and took lectures on various topics to the public. According to Professor Gabriel Queiroz, the meeting aimed to improve knowledge related to the practice of students and professionals in the area. In addition to Joyce, the symposium brought together important names, such as radiologists André Boechat and João Ricardo Maltez, and biomedical doctors and professors from the Biomedicine course at Bahiana Edson Oliveira and Thomas Barros.

"Our Postgraduate Course in Bioimaging could not come into being without the enthusiasm of people, such as Professor Edson Oliveira. A former student at the house, he, with great effort, became the professional he is today", In this way, Professor Geraldo Ferraro began to pay homage to Professor Edson Oliveira, highlighting his academic life and professional trajectory.

"I was born into a family of radiology technicians and it bothered me a lot to see the lack of knowledge the technicians had and the capacity they could have. Today, after many difficulties in my life, I am a professor at this institution with a lot of love ". These were Professor Edson Oliveira's words of retribution for the honor he received.

Juliana Meira, member of the organizing committee, student and graduate of the Post-Graduate Course in Biomage at Bahiana, explains that the project was a suggestion by the teachers who encouraged them to build a Course Conclusion Work with a different format: “Initially, we thought of doing an event about image, but we realized that most of the class works with resonance and we felt lack of events of this type in Salvador”.

Nationally recognized, Joice Brandão, who is also the author of the publication “Joice Study Notebook – definitive guide to skull MRI”, congratulated the event committee. “I felt really welcomed. The entire event was very well organized. They brought people of great weight, with very enriching lectures. A really high level event”.

"The success of this event proves that students who graduate with a course conclusion project like this symposium will be professionals of excellence in the market", concludes Geraldo Ferraro.
