Bahiana promotes Workshop on Digital Health

On 21 August, Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública promotes the “Workshop on Digital Health: challenges for Bahia”, from 8 am to 18 pm, in auditoriums I and II of Campus Cabula. The event aims to define initial strategic actions for an integrated digital health action in the state. The workshop is free, aimed at professors, students, researchers and professionals in the areas of health and Information Technology (IT). 150 places will be made available and applications can be made through the website registrations.bahiana.edu.br.

The program of the meeting includes panels on "Cyberinfrastructure in Bahia for Health" and "Experiences with Education and Health Tele-assistance in Bahia". In addition, there will be a presentation by Working Groups (WG) on the themes addressed in the panels and the presence of speakers such as Isamar Villas Boas Maia, computer engineer and professor at Bahiana, and Helena Oliveira Salomão do Amaral, advisor to the director of Primary Care at the Health Department of the State of Bahia (SESAB).

The topic of digital health is currently being discussed intensively. In Brazil, in July 2017, the SUS Tripartite Inter-Management Commission (CIT) published the Digital Health Strategy for Brazil, a document prepared with the participation of more than 60 specialists with different profiles. According to the Digital Health Strategy, it is expected that digital health will be "recognized as a strategy for the consistent improvement of health services through the availability and use of comprehensive, accurate and secure information that speeds up and improves the quality of health care. attention and health processes, in the three spheres of government and in the private sector, benefiting patients, professionals and health organizations".
