On June 16, at 10 am, the 8nd Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Awareness Walk and Chair will take place simultaneously in 2 cities in Brazil. In Salvador, the action will take place on Avenida Professor Magalhães Neto, with the support of Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública. The initiative is organized by the Brazilian Association of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis – ABrELA, a non-profit civil society organization.
The disease, which is degenerative, affects the nervous system, which causes progressive and irreversible motor paralysis, in a limiting way, being one of the most feared diseases known. Therefore, the walk aims to promote debate and information about ALS.
