Students and teachers offered facial hygiene to patients and collaborators.

In celebration of Women's Month, the Physiotherapy Clinic of Bahiana Health, located on campus Brotas, promoted facial hygiene sessions, during the morning of March 21, for patients and collaborators. The action was carried out by the students of the Physiotherapy course as a component of the supervised internship. Professor Carlos André Mamede and physical therapist Camila Sampaio, a partner in the initiative, guided the students during the period.

The physiotherapist and manager of the Physiotherapy Clinic, Janaína Pitanga, explains that every year there are actions that seek to improve self-esteem in Women's Month: “The activity promoted is part of the supervised internship of the Physiotherapy course at Bahiana, while providing a day of care for women. We have examples of people who tried facial hygiene for the first time through this proposal promoted by teachers and students”, says Janaína.

Carlos André Mamede, supervisor of the internship and the initiative, points out that the idea was to diversify the services inherent to the internship from a special occasion, which is the International Women's Month: “It is noteworthy that the guest was of fundamental importance to help in the teaching-learning process of the interns, as new care techniques were demonstrated during the action”.

For the physiotherapist Camila Sampaio, the invitation was very timely, as “providing employees and patients with well-being through our cosmetic products is very gratifying”.

The student Luiza Carolina dos Reis, 6th semester, is in the second stage of the Physiotherapy course and has approved her experience in the dermato-functional segment, which is a sector little explored in the classroom.

Patient Luísa Maria Oliveira, who attends the clinic every Thursday, congratulates the organizers for “in addition to taking care of people's health, thinking about the patients' self-esteem”. Luísa reports that the initiative is important, as she would not have the financial conditions to carry out facial cleaning. “I am very grateful for the fact that every year there are actions in honor of Women's Day”, concludes the patient.
